BACK TO MAIN
From the movie "The House is black" 1962, shot in a "Lepper house" in Iran.

This scene is in a classroom inside the Lepper community with all the children who are "deformed", they are reading out loud what they have written to thank God, Khoda "Persian word for Allah":

One student- I thank you, God, for creating me, I thank you God for creating my caring mother, my kind father.
Another student- I thank you God for creating the flowing water and the fruiting trees.
Another student- I thank you God for giving me hands to work with.
Another student- I thank you for giving me eyes to see the marvels of this world.
Another student- I thank you for giving me ears to enjoy beautiful songs.
Another student- I thank you for giving me feet to go wherever I will.

Then teacher asked them: why should we thank God for having a father and mother? You answer.
One student - I don't know, I have neither.
Teacher - You, name a few beautiful things.
Another student - The moon, the sun, flower, playtime.
Teacher - And you name a few ugly things.
Another student - Hand.. foot.. head (everyone giggles)
Teacher - Write a sentence with the word "house"
Another student writes on the board- The House is Black.

The voice comes over the picture:
Who is this in hell praising you, O Lord? Who is this?
